New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr left Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers because of a shoulder injury, with rumoured New York Jets target Jameis Winston taking Carr’s place.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was forced out of action on Sunday with a right shoulder injury against the Green Bay Packers. His setback could have the knock-on effect of taking a New York Jets quarterback target off the market.
Jameis Winston, who the quarterback-starved Jets have reportedly been monitoring, stepped into the fray in place of Carr.
New York broke down into finger-pointing during tense sideline scenes between current signal-caller Zach Wilson and his teammates, so their need for a passer has never been greater. They’ve been left reeling by Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles rupture in the season opener.
Carr was in immediate pain after Packers lineman Rashan Gary sacked him in the third quarter. The Saints at first listed him as questionable but ultimately ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.
