A mum has slammed her ‘selfish’ husband for leaving her at home with their three children to go on a golf trip with his friends – three weeks after she had a C-section
Giving birth to a baby takes an enormous toll on your body no matter whether you give birth vaginally or via a C-section, and it can take time for you to fully recover. If you’re lucky enough to have a support system at home, however, the recovery period can be much easier to deal with, as you can have your partner or other family members help to take care of your newborn baby while you get some rest while you back on your feet.
But one new mum has slammed her ‘selfish’ husband after he decided to ditch her just three weeks after she welcomed their third child into the world via C-section, because he wanted to go on a golf trip instead. The mum explained her husband has been on paternity leave since their youngest child was born and has been using his time at home to take care of their other two kids – aged four and six – while the mum focuses on their baby.
Now, just three weeks after coming home from the hospital, the dad has packed a bag and left for a two-day golfing holiday with his mates, leaving the mum to take care of all three kids by herself. She also has to find time to clean the bathroom and vacuum the carpets as her husband hasn’t done any housework while on paternity leave.
In a post on Mumsnet, she said: “I had a C-section three weeks ago. We have two other kids, four and six. My husband is heading off on a golf trip tomorrow and will be gone for two days. Am I right in being upset that he’s going? It’s an annual thing with some friends, but I missed my annual trip with my friends this year due to just having given birth.
