New blow for Rebekah Vardy over name of Coleen Rooney’s tell-all Disney+ documentary

Coleen Rooney has won yet another victory over Rebekah Vardy, who unsuccessfully sued her for libel last year, after landing the rights to name her Disney+ documentary after the infamous trial

Coleen Rooney has won yet another victory over Rebekah Vardy, after gaining the right to name her upcoming Disney+ documentary after the Wagatha Christie trial. The news comes shortly after the British media personality, who has been married to former England footballer Wayne Rooney since 2008, broke her silence about the court case in an exclusive interview with Vogue.

Rebekah famously sued Coleen, 37, for libel in 2022, over the latter’s online allegations that she had leaked stories about her to the press. The 41-year-old would ultimately lose the libel case, however, after a judge found that the claims were ‘substantially true.’ The loss has left Rebekah with legal bills amounting to over £1.5 million, 90% of which were to be paid to Coleen.

It’s understood that Rebekah is now set to face another blow, as reports emerge that the name of a new tell-all documentary has been inspired by the phrase ‘Wagatha Christie’, which she trademarked in April.

The documentary is set to be called Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which directly nods to the infamous infamous trial.
