My mate down the pub reckons this might be the reason our sex life has taken a turn for the adventurous, reader tells Mirror agony aunt Coleen Nolan
Dear Coleen,
I’m a man in my early forties and my wife (who’s the same age) suddenly wants to do all these new things in bed and is a lot more interested in sex than she was before. I’m not complaining, as it’s obviously enjoyable and fun for me, but when I mentioned it to a mate at the pub, he suggested that maybe she’s having an affair and that’s what has got her so fired up about sex.
He backtracked a bit and said he was joking, but now I can’t get the idea out of my mind. She’s a part-time teaching assistant at a local primary school, so has plenty of time on her hands and is in contact with lots of young, fit dads through her work.
I suppose my question is, is it unusual to suddenly become a lot more adventurous in bed in your forties? We’ve been happily married for 15 years and while our sex life has always been good, it’s always been a bit predictable and I’m usually the one to initiate things. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but now the idea is in my head, I can’t stop thinking about it. I would love your opinion.
