Kerry, from Sheffield in South Yorkshire, was working in Kos on the day 21-month-old Ben vanished and has not seen him since. British cops believe the child was killed by a digger driver near the farmhouse in a tragic accident. But Kerry has been campaigning for police to keep the search for her son going. She suffered new agony earlier this year when a man came forward claiming to be Ben, but a DNA test by South Yorkshire Police proved that wasn't the case. Then Kerry this month alerted the force to an Interpol appeal to identify a child's body discovered in the River Danube in Grossmehring in Bavaria, Germany. Cops issued a photofit of the boy aged five or six who was found a year ago, wrapped in foil and weighed down in the water with a concrete slab. Officers have said the child was not German and could have been abducted from overseas. South Yorkshire Police today announced they had ruled out the boy found in Germany being Ben. The force said: "South Yorkshire Police, supported by Europol, has received confirmation that a DNA sample of the body found in the River Danube in Germany does not match that of Ben Needham. "Ben's family has been informed and are being supported. "Our thoughts remain with the young boy who is yet to be identified and, of course, the Needham family who continue in their search for answers."
