In a major twist, host Davina gathered the kids of each contestant, who had driven them to a luxury property, in a secret surveillance room. They were soon told that they would be able to watch their mother or father's every move, as well as be involved in how their experiences go. Viewers tuning into the series believed that some of the children of the contestants seemed like typical Love island contestants. With a lot of the focus of the launch episode being on them watching their parents, viewers were divided over the amount of screen time they were getting. Some viewers questioned whether as the series goes on, we might see more of the younger stars of the show and whether they too could get closer.
