A MUM has been left mortified after realising she accidentally named her newborn daughter ‘lasagna’.
The new parents had christened their daughter Elizabeth or ‘Liz’ for short and given her the middle name Anya, sounding just like the Italian pasta dish.
Devastated at her mistake, the anonymous woman has since taken to Reddit to ask whether she should consider changing the name, despite it being a tribute to her late mother-in-law.
Explaining the situation she said: “My husband and I welcomed our first child about nine weeks ago. We found out it was going to be a girl and we quickly decided on the name Elizabeth for her.
“Her middle name was originally going to be Jane, with the intent to call her EJ, however, when I was seven months pregnant, my husband’s mother lost her fight with breast cancer.
