A mum has been left devastated after her daughter complained of a tummy ache – only to be told she has stage four cancer just weeks later.
Little Millie Holmes began to complain of the stomach ache and mum Gemma just put it down to a regular bug. However, when the six-year-old began to get nosebleeds and passing blood in her urine, alarm bells rang.
Gemma took her to the GP and was told she had a water infection. The doctor gave her antibiotics before sending her home. Months later, Millie’s condition had not improved, she had little appetite and was losing weight.
Knowing something was seriously wrong with her daughter, mum-of-four Gemma took her back to the GP and this time, pushed for blood tests, Manchester Evening News reports.
