According to this now-distraught animal lover, poor Shadow went missing back in 2012, back when he was almost five years old. Heartbroken, they held out hope for two full years, believing that, as he'd been microchipped, they still had a good chance of someone getting in touch with information. Sadly, the much-longed-for call never came, and after three years went by, they decided to "make peace" with the idea that Shadow had probably passed away, mourning him and looking back fondly on their time together. They, therefore, couldn't believe it when they received a call from their vet, informing them their "sweet boy" had been found, 11 years after his disappearance. It felt as though a "miracle" had occurred. Taking to Reddit, the initially thrilled cat lover wrote: "He had been living on a residential street for the last six years and was being fed by the neighbourhood. "No vet visits, no comfy bed, no shelter from the heat and cold except sporadically when they took pity on him. He had been attacked by something and required minor care and stitches which is when they found his chip with my information. "I was so happy and couldn't wait to see him again but because we only get paid once a month, I couldn't get there until August 1. The woman who took him to the vet was on board but last week started talking about how she didn't know what to do with him while recovers so she and I scrambled to find funds to make the trip to get him.
