The Channel 4 star and his wife Jessica share three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins, Rafa and Cormac. Jonnie explained he was initially diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and told he had six months to live. Now, he says: "I don't know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I'm living with cancer, not dying from it." Jonnie initially kept the news secret but explained he decided to speak out after it became like a "monkey on my back". He added: "One day, this is going to catch up with me, but I'm doing everything I can to hold that day off for as long as possible. "I owe that to Jess and our boys, Some people in my position have bucket lists, but I just want us to do as much as we can as a family." As well as fronting A Place in the Sun - Home Or Away for more then 200 episodes Jonnie hosts a range of house-move shows. He has also worked on the BBC's Escape To the Country and To Buy Or Not To Buy Dream Lives For Sale. His TV co-stars and friends have been paying tribute to Jonnie since his shock announcement. Place in the Sun co-star Jasmine Harman wrote today: "Words can't fix much, but what lovely words of support you have had here Jonnie.
