Two years after her release from prison, Sally married Dell, who was her first husband's best man at their wedding and previously offered to testify on her behalf. The pair are now living happily in a home which they bought together. Sally has decided to speak out to "show other women that there can be life - happy life - after coercive control". She told the Daily Mail: "In this marriage, I am not walking on eggshells all the time. I am not scared. We laugh. We go out for dinner. It's amazing." While teenagers, Sally, then 15, and Dell, 19, went on two dates and got along with each other. However, Dell had another girlfriend, so set Sally up with his friend Richard, who asked her out and they became a couple. Asked what Richard would make of their current relationship, Sally said: "He'd kill us both. No. Richard was a coward, he wouldn't do it himself, but he'd get a hitman to do it." The mum-of-two, who was 16 when she met 22-year-old Richard, was manipulated, regularly cheated on and lost control of her own money during their 31-year marriage. On a holiday to Los Angeles in 1998 to visit Dell, Richard's behaviour went from controlling and mentally abusive to sexual.
