A MUM-of-two died during botched weight loss surgery in Turkey after medics failed to stem internal bleeding, a coroner has ruled.
Emma Morrissey, 44, got engaged just three weeks before jetting off to have a gastric sleeve fitted.
She travelled abroad as she didn’t meet the requirements to have it free on the NHS, and private surgery in the UK is costly, the inquest heard.
The operation on July 8 last year should have taken three hours but her fiance Jonathan Burt was given the devastating news it was taking longer than expected due to complications.
He was then told she was in a critical condition before she passed away at 12.45pm due to internal bleeding, which caused multiple cardiac arrests.
