Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert has previously flagged advice from experts at Energy Saving Trust, who suggest it is generally better to only heat your home when you need it
A mum has explained how she slashed her energy bill in half by following a tip from Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert.com website.
MSE has previously flagged advice from experts at Energy Saving Trust, who suggest it is generally better to only heat your home when you need it. Many households will be thinking about how to slash their energy bills from now, as the colder weather begins.
In an article last updated on September 25, the MSE team said: “The key thing to understand here is that it’s all about the total amount of energy required to heat your home. It’s a given that a certain amount of energy is constantly leaking out of your home (how much will depend on how good your insulation is). The Energy Saving Trust says if you’re keeping the heating on all day you’re losing energy all day, so it’s better to heat your home only when you need it.”
Earlier this year, Manchester Evening News asked readers for their own money saving tips. In response, one woman explained how she slashed her heating bill in half by making the simple change suggested by MSE and the Energy Saving Trust.
