MrBeast beats PewDiePie subscriber numbers to become new king of YouTube

YouTube has entered a new era as MrBeast has officially broken PewDiePie’s track record and has become the most subscribed creator on the platform.

American YouTuber MrBeast is best known for his big budget stunt videos, in which he often gifts his subscribers with insane amounts of money for completing tasks.

These tasks range from swimming with sharks to competing in an IRL version of the Squid Game, although everyone always seems happy to take them on.

The videos are incredibly popular, so much so that they’ve helped MrBeast – real name Jimmy Donaldson – overtake PewDiePie as the world’s most subscribed YouTube channel.

To celebrate reaching 100 million subscribers, MrBeast gave away a private island, so now that he’s reached yet another milestone, many are wondering what he’ll do next.
