The supermarket chain said the move will allow customers to have ‘a more sustainable Christmas’. The ban affects all festive wrapping paper and gifting accessories, such as gift tags and bags
Morrisons has banned all plastic packaging from its Christmas gift wrap and accessories range.
The supermarket had already removed glitter from crackers and cards in previous years – and said its latest move will allow customers to have “a more sustainable Christmas”.
The decision will remove more than 3.1 tonnes of plastic shrink wrap from its wrapping paper alone, Morrisons said.
The ban affects all festive wrapping paper and gifting accessories, such as gift tags and bags – which will be made of recyclable paper instead.
