Thousands of drivers have been left to fork out after horrific weather over the last month created potholes that damaged their cars, the AA has said.
Potholes have caused an additional 225 breakdowns a day this month amid heavy rain and worsening road conditions, it has been revealed.
The AA figures show that the number of pothole-related breakdowns has soared in the last fortnight compared with the average at this time of year.
President Edmund King warned the situation will worsen as temperatures plummet.
