Moment police bulldoze through climate protest before arresting activists

Nevada police arrested climate protestors at Burning Man on Sunday (Image: Twitter/@EndWokeness) Police in the US rammed through a climate protest blockade near the Burning Man festival on Sunday and arrested protesters at gunpoint. Sunday marked the first day of Burning Man 2023 in Black Rock City where thousands upon thousands go to see the yearly music and art festival . But climate activists blocked the road leading to the site , causing a major traffic jam and enormous frustration for festivalgoers. According to a reporter on scene, they were demanding Burning Man ban private jets and single-use plastics. It was soon followed by a Nevada ranger driving a police car straight through the blockade. Don’t move!’ He points a gun at the protesters, forces them to the ground and arrests them. The activists, who were associated with the group Seven Circles , screamed as the rangers handcuffed them. They had blocked a main thoroughfare using a trailer, lock-ons, and banners with the words ‘Burners of the world, unite!’ Other banners read ‘abolish capitalism’ and ‘ general strike for climate ‘. Seven Circles told Daily Express US : ‘The blockade is in protest against the popularization of Burning Man among affluent people who do not live the stated values of Burning Man…’ Emily Collins, co-founder of activist group Rave Revolution, said in a statement sent to Daily Express US : ‘Burning Man itself was born as a protest to the growth-dependent capitalist default world. ‘As Burners, we understand the power of community and have shown time and time again that we can create a new society, with new rules that include dignity for every living being.’ Man Chong, an organizer with Extinction Rebellion , said: ‘The time has come…Ban the lowest hanging fruit immediately: private jets. ‘No single individual should have the luxury of emitting 10 to 20 times more carbon pollution than a commercial airline passenger. Burners, rebel with us.’ Follow our social media accounts here on  facebook.com/ExpressUSNews  and  @expressusnews
