Jorge ‘Jojo’ Morales went missing in Miami, Florida on August 27 – and was located during a chance encounter in New Brunswick, Canada two months later. The youngster, who has autism, was placed on the FBI’s missing persons list during this period. A $10,000 reward was offered to members of the public with crucial information.In the FBI appeal, eastern Canada is suggested as a possible place Jojo may have been taken to – and that is where he proved to be.Jojo was last seen on the morning of Saturday, August 27, wearing a grey t-shirt, grey shorts and black shoes, investigators said.His mother Yanet Leal Concepcion after his father, Jorge Gabriel Morales, 45, allegedly breached a custody agreement.Mr Morales and Jojo’s grandmother, Lilliam Pena Morales, 68, were arrested “without incident” in relation to Jojo’s disappearance, police have said. The youngster had been missing for around two months before he was identified in New Brunswick, Canada. Jojo’s dad and grandma have both been arrested following the incident. His father and grandmother have been arrested (Image: National Center for Missing)A stranger recognised Jorge with his father at a Walmart and reported it to the police.The boy was located by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in New Brunswick.His mum told Local10: “I’m just so happy because my son is okay, I feared the worst. ‘Every mother fears the worst and I’m just … I can’t, my body is like leaving my soul. Mr Morales and Ms Morales both remain in custody.Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez said “this is another example how local, state, federal, and international law enforcement, along with the United States and State Attorney’s Office coming together for the safety of a child”. Speaking to reporters at 7News, she said: “He asked me where I have been because he doesn’t know, he’s very unaware to what’s going on.’Thankfully, it’s a blessing in disguise that he is living with autism because he thought he was on vacation, and I told him the same.’Speaking about the two months, Ms Concepcion said she suffered with ‘constant sadness”, struggled with sleeping, and eating, and was “constantly praying, constantly thinking that something bad was going to happen” to her son. Concepcion is expected to reunite with her son imminently after he is escorted back to Florida by a Canadian social worker. She added: “We are forever grateful [for the person who called the police]. “It takes courage to say something, and I know it does, and I hope they know that, thanks to that person, I’m going to see my son again.’
