The OC actress could soon be returning to the country from whence she was born after filming new episodes of Neighbours in Australia – and wants a West End role to boot
Mischa Barton is planning a move to London and has her heart set on landing a role in the West End as she prepares to capitalise on her triumphant return to acting following her new role in iconic Aussie soap, Neighbours.
The 37-year-old Hollywood star was born on British shores and is considering making London her permanent home, according to showbiz pals. Mischa, who shot to fame playing Marissa Cooper in hit US teen drama The OC in 2003, will be starring in the revived Australian soap Neighbours from next week – but it sounds like she won’t be staying Down Under for long.
The iconic show aired what was thought to be its last ever episode last July – bringing the show to an end after 37 years as the soap lost its financial backing. However, Amazon came to the rescue to give Neighbours a new lease of life – and brand new episodes will start streaming via Freevee, an Amazon streaming service, from Monday.
Mischa has been in the UK to promote the new episodes as she has a leading role in the revived show, playing a character named Reece Sinclair who becomes entangled with Byron Stone – the son of Jane Harris and Vic Stone. And on Wednesday night, Mischa took a break from the promotion line to attend the exhibition launch of artist Zara Muse at Grove contemporary art gallery in London’s Battersea Square.
