Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been speaking about Gabriel Magalhaes absence from the team, with the Brazilian once again named on the bench for the match against Fulham
Mikel Arteta has admitted that he “doesn’t know” whether or not Gabriel Magalhaes accepts the reasoning behind his absence from the Arsenal team, with the Brazilian was again benched for the visit of Fulham.
Gabriel played an influential role for the Gunners during the 2022/23 campaign after striking up an impressive partnership with William Saliba at the heart of defence but has now started all three of Arsenal’s league matches so far this term on the bench.
Ben White, who excelled at right-back last term, has got the nod to start ahead of Gabriel, who has also been linked with a lucrative transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
Arteta has already made it clear, though, that the defender will not be leaving the club before next week’s transfer deadline – even if he is unhappy with his current spot in the Arsenal pecking order.
