Mike Yarwood dies aged 82 as tributes pour in for comedian and impersonator

Mike Yarwood has died (Image: Getty) The Royal Variety Charity has confirmed that beloved comedian Mike Yarwood has died at the age of 82. In a post shared to X, formerly known as Twitter , the organisation said: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of the legendary comedian and impersonator, #MikeYarwood, OBE. “Mike leaves behind an immeasurable void in the entertainment industry. “We send our deepest condolences to Mike’s family, his many friends and fans. RIP.” The post was accompanied by a sweet photo of Mike meeting the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was holding a bunch of flowers as she smiled at the comedian. Many celebrities and fans rushed to pay tribute to Mike, including Piers Morgan , who remembered watching the funnyman when he was growing up. The TalkTV host wrote: “Sad news. Massive TV star when I was growing up, and such a gifted comedian & impressionist. RIP Mike, and thanks for all the laughs.” The operations manager at the Royal Variety, Peter Hinton, also shared: “I shall sorely miss Mike. Our brilliant chats and our proper belly laughs. “There was no one like him before, and none like him left. A real gentle man and a truly unique, one of a kind.
