Harry Kane is set to make a decision over whether to stay at Tottenham or join Bayern Munich and Michael Owen has given his thoughts on the England captain’s future
Michael Owen has urged Harry Kane not to join Bayern Munich this summer after the German giants reached an agreement with Tottenham.
Spurs are said to have accepted a bid worth more than £86.4m and it is now down to Kane to decide whether he wants to stay or go. And Owen believes Kane should remain at Tottenham and break Alan Shearer’s record for the most Premier League goals in history.
The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United forward claimed that would be a “bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by 1 team”. Owen wrote on social media: “I know Bayern Munich are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Harry Kane I’d stay put.
“There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them. Real Madrid I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter. Becoming the all time Premier League top goal scorer at Tottenham is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by 1 team.”
