The world is in mourning on the anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.
The tragic events of the day changed the modern world forever after a number of hijacked planes caused chaos. A number of commercial aircrafts on that Tuesday were hijacked by militant Islamist terrorist group al-Qaeda, with two flying into the iconic World Trade Centre in New York.
A third plane also crashed into the west side of the Pentagon, causing a partial collapse of the American military headquarters. The fourth plane to be hijacked in the tragic scenes crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, thankfully not reaching its intended target.
In total, 2,977 lives were lost on the fateful day, with over 25,000 injuries and substantial long-term health problems. Throughout the years a number of stories involving celebrities have came to light, including the awful news Pete Davidson’s dad was one of the firefighters to lose his life in the tragedy.
