Miami-Dade police chief Freddy Ramirez is fighting for life in critical condition after “shooting himself”, multiple police sources have said.
The police department has said Alfredo ‘Freddy’ Ramirez, 52, suffered a critical injury and is undergoing surgery, asking people to keep him in their prayers.
Multiple police sources tell the Miami Herald Mr Ramirez shot himself, although this is not confirmed.
“He’s in the hospital and they’re working on him,” said Steadman Stahl, president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association. “Our prayers are with his family right now. We don’t know exactly what happened.”
