Met Office shares hopeful update on when downpours will come to an end

Unsettled weather with showers and below-average temperatures are on the cards for most. The Met Office’s forecast doesn’t bring good news as the first two weeks of the holidays will be a washout across the UK

Brits hoping to get away today for the summer holidays are in for a wet and miserable start.

Unsettled weather with showers and below-average temperatures are on the cards for most. The Met Office’s forecast doesn’t bring good news as the first two weeks of the holidays will be a washout across the UK.

However, there are hopeful signs that indicate during the second week of August the weather could start to become more settled, the Met Office said.

It comes as millions of families are expected to take to the roads over the weekend either for a day trip or holiday between Friday and Monday, according to the RAC.
