New Met Office weather maps have offered Brits more disappointing news, as a huge new band of rain is expected to hit parts of the UK at the beginning of next week
Brits have been warned to get out their umbrellas as the wet and miserable conditions are set to continue next week.
The Met Office says there will be a new “band of organised rain” at the start on Monday before it begins to settle. The latest weather maps from the forecaster show that north west England will likely see the heaviest rain with up to 16mm falling per hour. In contrast, London and the south east of England are expected to experience lighter showers.
It comes as this weekend brings a gloomier forecast of thunder and lightning, with further storms highlighted as a possibility for August.
Forecasters explained a weather system drifting over the Atlantic could be the reason behind the miserable conditions. The summer has been a bleak one for Brits so far, with heavier downpours expected for some parts next week. It is believed Scotland and Northern Ireland will experience the worst of it on Saturday morning, while a massive band of rain will cover most of the British Isles.
