Brits have been told to brace for huge downpours as flood alerts have been issued across the UK – with the wet weather expected to last a month.
Flood alerts have been issued across the country as the UK braces itself for more torrential rain this week.
Five red alerts and 13 amber warnings of possible floods in areas across England have been issued by the Environment Agency, mostly in areas with rivers where they could burst their banks due to the downpours.
Red alerts have been issued on rivers in Merseyside, South Yorkshire, Tarleton, while amber alerts are in force in parts of West Yorkshire, Leicester, East Anglia, Lancashire, Nottinghamshire, the Black Country, South Staffordshire, and Cumbria.
