Mercedes line up Lewis Hamilton replacement as Sky pundit escapes fireball

There is now just one week before the F1 returns with the Singapore Grand Prix as Max Verstappen and Red Bull will look to continue their domination on the track, but the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will hope that the chasing pack can gain some speed on the current leader, having had a free weekend to work on their cars. Hamilton recently put to bed all the contract speculation surrounding himself, as the Brit penned a new deal with Mercedes and committed himself to the Silver Arrows after months of negotiations, he will be desperate to be back fighting at the top of the grid once again. The seven-time world champion has recently been forced to respond to Sir Jackie Stewart’s insult of suggesting that he is not in the right place mentally to fight for titles anymore. While there has even been talk of Hamilton’s first championship being stripped as a result of Felipe Massa’s legal challenge. Sky Sports F1 pundit Karun Chandhok had a scary escape after his car caught on fire at Goodwood , but fortunately he managed to escape without sustaining any major injuries.
