Mekhi Becton performs U-turn and “puts ego aside” for Aaron Rodgers’ benefit

New York Jets offensive tackle Mekhi Becton has opened up on his positional U-turn that will see him help new teammate Aaron Rodgers in the 2023 NFL regular season

New York Jets offensive tackle Mekhi Becton has opened up on switching position from a left tackle to help the team.

Becton was drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jets, and is preparing for his fourth season in the league. However, the 24-year-old has spent the majority of his career on the sidelines.

The offensive tackle injured his knee in the opening game of the 2021 regular season and would require surgery. After spending the remainder of that season in recovery, Becton would sustain another injury to the same knee a year later during training camp that ruled him out of the entirety of the 2022 season after undergoing further surgery.

After playing just one game since 2021, Becton has been working his way back to returning to the field for the Jets. Although, this off-season has been surrounded by uncertainty around his potential position.
