Meghan and Harry’s ‘publicity stunt’ in front of cameras slammed by ex-pal

Meghan Markle  and  Prince Harry have been told to do their charity work ‘without cameras’ by a former friend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose HRH titles were removed from the Royal Family’s website this week, have been criticised for feeling the need to document all of the good things they do. Instead, Meghan’s ex-pal, TV presenter Lizzie Cundy, has branded their six-part Netflix docu-series a “publicity stunt” and told the pair to stop filming their lives. Cundy, who met Meghan at a chairty dinner in 2013 before a short-lived friendshipm, is calling for the Sussexes to carry on their charitable doings behind closed doors. “Look I’m gonna be honest with Meghan and Harry. Obviously, I knew Meghan before she got with Harry,” Cundy told the Daily Star . And I just think maybe do some good stuff without the cameras there for a pat on the back,” she added. “They haven’t been seen together for a long time and I just think this is – shall I say – a publicity stunt, possibly?” Lizzie Cundy used to be friends with Meghan (Image: Getty) Cundy then shared some advice she had been given by music mogul Simon Cowell, who once told her: “Be real because the audience can see through it.” She previously told GB News about her first meeting with Meghan at a charity dinner a decade ago, which led to their frirendship. “I was friends with Meghan for a while and I really got on with her,” Cundy said in March. “I was asked by a friend to look after her at a charity event and I thought, ‘Who is this woman?’ No one actually knew who she was.” However, their relationship soon crumbled and the pair are no longer on speaking terms. This comes after Harry and Meghan were dealt a ‘brutal reality check’ when their HRH titles were removed online. Express.co.uk reported the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes HRH titles were removed from the Royal Family’s website, with Harry now referred to as just ‘The Duke’. While Buckingham Palace said the revisions were just housekeeping, royal expert Richard Kay called the move ‘brutal’. Speaking to the Mail, Kay said: ‘For it was surely no coincidence that the Prince’s arrival in the Far East coincided with the brutal reality check administered by Buckingham Palace about his status – and that of his wife, Meghan – in the new‑look Royal Family.’
