Meghan Markle and Prince Harry publicly marked Veterans Day and Remembrance Day by sharing a message on the website of their organisation, Archewell. The Duke and Duchess of Sussexs’ post, simply titled Remembrance Day, read: “On this Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we honor servicemembers across the world.”These brave men and women, as well as their families, have made tremendous sacrifices and embody duty and service.”We are proud to work with so many organizations that support veterans and military families, including: The Invictus Games Foundation, The Mission Continues, Team Rubicon, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and The Greatest GENERATIONS Foundation. Today and every day, thank you for your service.”The message was accompanied by a black-and-white picture by Chris Allerton, who has often taken snaps of the pair.It shows the couple joined by a small crowd as they stand in front of military personnel, including an officer holding the US flag. However, Remembrance Day is marked in the UK and Commonwealth member states to honour those who have lost their lives in conflict since World War 1, while Veterans Day is observed in the US to celebrate the service of all the military veterans in the country.This isn’t the first time Meghan and Harry have honoured the veterans and the fallen after relinquishing their senior roles within the Firm in the spring of 2020. (USO) tour, which provides entertainment to service personnel and their families. She visited troops stationed in five countries – Spain, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan and the UK. The Duke and Duchess will not be at tonight’s Festival of Remembrance held at the Royal Albert Hall nor at the Cenotaph tomorrow, where King Charles will lead the country in commemorating the fallen.
