Max is being introduced to the group by Griff (Michael Condron), who is working as an undercover police officer with Spider (Martin Hancock) but isn't as focused on the job in hand as his pal. Griff is far more passionate about the gang itself than trying to bring them down, with viewers starting to learn a bit more about his way of thinking, establishing tonight that he thinks school is a waste of time and went to the 'university of life'. During another chat with Max, Griff continued to get under his skin. Griff was making Max smile, he felt touched that his new friend could actually recognise the person he really is, not a naughty and troublesome teenager who doesn't deserve a chance in life. After being invited to Griff's flat again, Max spun a story to David (Jack P Shepherd) and explained he won't be home for dinner as he's off to the library. In the flat, Max drank beer and got to know Reece, the father of a teenage girl also at the gathering – Lauren. Max was immediately smitten meeting Lauren and as they started to bond, Griff came over and gave Max a book. Lauren and Griff claimed that the book was about the 'lies mainstream media feed us' and how for many people, they believe those mentioned in the book are 'conspiracy theorists', but they actually should be considered 'brave enough' to talk about it. We know that Max will end up spending more time with Lauren, as he agreed to watch a DVD she had recommended. As Max develops a crush, he will inevitably fall deeper into this dangerous new world and sadly, while this is uncomfortable now – the ordeal has only just begun.){kind=link}
