Max Verstappen’s F1 team-mates must all follow one Red Bull rule as Lando Norris warned

Verstappen has all-but secured his third F1 title and will be gunning for more in the coming years, while his team-mates including Sergio Perez, Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly have lived in his shadow

Red Bull may keep Sergio Perez as team-mate to Max Verstappen as they “don’t care” who races alongside the Dutchman.

That’s the view of Jacques Villeneuve as the Canadian gave his verdict on the driver situation at Red Bull with Perez’s future under question after another season of being outshone by Verstappen.

He is all but certain to win his third F1 title this year, while Perez trails by 145 points despite having the same car. The Mexican is still second place in the standings, meaning Verstappen is waltzing towards that crown unchallenged.

Villeneuve believes Red Bull will be very content with that situation. And that’s why the 1997 world champion believes the team will stick with Perez for 2024 – because he can’t see Red Bull choosing a driver who would give Verstappen a sterner challenge.
