Max Verstappen is likely to break Lewis Hamilton’s F1 records within six years, according to experts at MyBettingSites. The firm’s research shows Verstappen is ahead of Hamilton’s trajectory and even suggests he could beat the seven-time champion’s statistics by the end of the decade. They note how Verstappen has won 20.7 per cent of races he has entered so far in his F1 career. The Dutchman has won 33 races and secured 74 podiums so far whereas Hamilton had only picked up 14 victories and 36 podiums at the same age. They claim the 12 year-gap between the pair makes it inevitable that the Dutchman will close up on Hamilton’s statistics soon. Their data shows that this would happen within the next six years if Verstappen keeps up his current win rate. The reigning champion matched Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher’s record of 13 wins in a single season last time out at the United States Grand Prix. In comparison, Hamilton has only ever managed 11 wins over the course of a season.READ MORE: Hamilton explains the reason Russell was beating him before fightback Max Verstappen could beat Lewis Hamilton’s records within years (Image: Getty)If Verstappen maintains this form, it would take him just over five seasons to match Hamilton’s 103 victories.
