Martin Keown ‘worried’ about Premier League rivals who remind him of iconic Arsenal team

Arsenal favourite Martin Keown is wary of the transformation that his former side’s bitter rivals Tottenham have undergone since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival in north London

Martin Keown has likened Ange Postecoglou’s impact at Tottenham to the transformation that Arsenal underwent with Arsene Wenger back in the 90s.

While Arsenal re-established themselves as Premier League title contenders last year, Spurs had a campaign to forget. After parting company with Antonio Conte in March, the Londoners limped to an eighth place finish, missing out on European football entirely.

The mood at the club has been completely transformed, though, under Postecoglou, who was prised away from Celtic in the summer. The 58-year-old has already got his team playing the type of expansive, attacking football that Spurs fans had been craving under Conte.

And Keown, a key part of the Arsenal teams that became synonymous with success during the early years of Wenger’s premiership, is wary of just how significant Postecoglou’s impact could prove to be over the coming months and years.
