The attacker rose through the club’s youth ranks and played an important part in the club’s re-build following the Munich air disaster.
Manchester United tweeted a touching tribute that read: “Sending our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of former Red Mark Pearson, who represented United in the late 1950s and 1960s.
“He will always hold a special place in the hearts of those at the club.”
Their statement continued: “His part in a unique chapter in Manchester United’s history is indelible, and everyone at the club would like to pass on sincere condolences to Mark’s family at this sad time.”
