Manchester United have waved goodbye to David de Gea after more than a decade at the club but Marcus Rashford’s farewell social media post was the scene of an awkward error
Marcus Rashford has dropped a social media clanger as he attempted to post a farewell message to David de Gea.
The Manchester United forward has seen one of his long-term team-mates leave Old Trafford after his contract expired following weeks of talks. The goalkeeper was offered a pay cut to remain in the north west before the club later withdrew the contract and tabled another fresh proposal.
Eventually De Gea opted to leave the club he signed for 2011 with several of his team-mates sad to see him go. Rashford though has made a blunder after he appeared to send a message to someone who manages his account, who has then copied it word for word.
As a result Rashford’s account posted a picture of himself and De Gea alongside the words: “Caption ideas: You were here from my breakthrough, good luck with your next step brother”.
