Manchester United fans protest against Glazers and Mason Greenwood return

Fan group The 1958 are planning a 60-minute sit in after United’s next Premier League home game against Nottingham Forest

Old Trafford was the scene of two protests on Monday night on the day that leading supporters group MUST accused Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, of holding the club “hostage.”

Fellow fans group The 1958 staged a pre-match protest, aimed primarily at promoting a planned post-match sit-in that they intend to stage after United’s next home game, with Nottingham Forest a week on Saturday.

They were also joined by an organisation, Female Fans Against Greenwood’s Return, that is unhappy at the prospect of United forward Mason Greenwood being re-instated by the club.

The mood of unrest stems from the Glazers, who announced in November 2022 that they were seeking new investment that could lead to selling the club outright, remaining in situ.
