Man with ‘car crash’ injuries is ‘lucky to be alive’ after tripping over pet cat

Chris Rowley, 59, from Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, broke nine ribs, fractured his spine, snapped his neck, cracked his skull, and got blood in his lungs after getting into a tangle with his pet kitten, Eric Morecambe

A man broke nine ribs, fractured his spine, and cracked his skull leaving him with a bleed on the brain – after he tripped over his pet cat. Chris Rowley, 59, a professional musician, laid on the floor for 14 hours with his harrowing injuries before being discovered after his run-in with his new kitten, Eric Morecambe.

The hairless sphynx jumped up and latched onto Chris’ leg, and as he tried to move out of the way, he slipped down the stairs – leaving him with catastrophic injuries akin to a car crash.

After the incident, Chris wasn’t discovered until the next morning due to his partner working nights – leaving him lying in a pool of blood as his cat sat on his chest.

The horrific event on Sunday, October 23, saw him hospitalised for two weeks – leaving him out-of-pocket as he is unable to work.
