Man who spent £12k to become a dog says others want to follow his lead

A man who dreamed of becoming an animal and fulfilled his goal after purchasing a human-sized dog costume for £12,480 has given his first interview as Toco, a collie

A Japanese man who spent thousands to become a dog has shared his first in-costume interview as an animal and revealed other people want to follow his lead. The animal lover, known as Toco, regularly shares updates with fans about his choice to splash out two million Yen, which equates to £12,480, on a human-sized collie costume.

In his latest YouTube video, Toco proudly showed off his first in-costume interview with Spanish international news agency, EFE. “Since I was a child I wanted a change,” said Toco, according to Indy 100. “When I am dressed in the suit I feel happy because my dreams come true.”

He also spoke of the positive responses he has received, including from people who wish to replicate what he’s done. “I received all kinds of messages, among the positive messages, some tell me that they want to do what [I’ve done]. This has allowed me to see that there are other people like me,” said Toco.

Toco dresses up in his costume a few times a month and sometimes worries about his friends’ reactions. He previously told the Mirror: “I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird. My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal.”
