Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was on top form as he impressed in action for a rampant Portugal side in their Euro 2024 qualifier at home to Luxembourg
Bruno Fernandes produced a sublime performance for Portugal and stole the show with a mesmeric assist for their opening goal against Luxembourg.
Having seen his side win all five of their previous Euro 2024 qualifiers, Roberto Martinez demanded no let-up with the opportunity to take a huge step towards Germany next year. And sure enough, the Manchester United playmaker took just 12 minutes to conjure up a moment of magic.
The 29-year-old swung in a corner from the right, which was partially cleared. When the opportunity arose for a second cross, Fernandes duly curled a beautiful cross in with the outside of his right boot, landing it perfectly onto the head of Goncalo Inacio.
The striker did the rest, nodding home to give the hosts the lead. And he immediately showed his gratitude to Fernandes, running straight over to celebrate with his team-mate.
