MANCHESTER UNITED punched their ticket to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a dominant 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
This was a much-needed win for United who have been enduring a turbulent start to the campaign that has seen them losing four out of eight matches so far this season.
The Red Devils opened the scoring after 21 minutes when a stunning ball from Mason Mount found Facundo Pellistri down the right and the winger passed to Diogo Dalot.
Dalot delivered a low cross that set Alejandro Garnacho up for a clinical finish that picked a deflection off Rob Holding.
The Manchester giants doubled their lead six minutes later when Mount delivered a pinpoint cross from a corner-kick down the left and found Casemiro who beat Johnstone with a powerful header.
