Man Utd fans planning Old Trafford sit-in protest against Glazers as takeover saga continues

It is now nine months since the Glazers announced they would be willing to sell the club but the new season will begin without United naming a new owner

Manchester United fans will stage fresh protests against the Glazers at their first two home games of the season.

Erik ten Hag’s men kick off their campaign on August 14 against Wolves at Old Trafford with the takeover saga still rumbling on, nine months after the Glazers announced they would be willing to sell.

Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have been the two frontrunners for some time, but negotiations remain ongoing ahead of the new season. There is now a fear among United fans that the Glazers will not sell up and instead bring in investment for a minority stake.

There have been a number of protests against the United owners in recent years and supporter group The 1958 have announced their plans for matches against Wolves and Nottingham Forest.
