Man Utd could be onto something spectacular with Anthony Martial swap deal

Manchester United may have downplayed their chances of signing Harry Kane but, according to reports, they remain keen on the Tottenham star. It’s easy to see why given everything he’s achieved throughout his career so far. And Anthony Martial could be used as bait, with the France international facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford. According to Football Transfers , United remain keen on Kane. The Red Devils are currently looking at other forwards, with Randal Kolo Muani and Rasmus Hojlund two players on their radar. But United would love to recruit Kane as well, despite the complexities of any potential transfer deal. It’s claimed Tottenham ‘continue to monitor Martial’, who was previously a transfer target for the club back in 2015. He ended up moving to United that year instead, however, having previously signed a new contract with the Ligue 1 side. Well, maybe it’s because they know they have to sign at least two more players – because I still reckon Ten Hag will want to bring in a proper goalscorer, and all this misinformation about spending limits suggests their target is still Harry Kane! I simply don’t believe they have to limit their spending this summer. They are Manchester United, and there are always ways to raise funds. ‘Kane makes sense to me. ‘I’ve said in this column before, I believe he’ll stay in the Premier League because he wants to smash the all-time scoring record. Man Utd retain transfer interest in Tottenham hitman Harry Kane (Image: GETTY) ‘But Spurs are absolutely miles away from winning the big trophies so he’ll have to move, and United looks the most obvious destination. ‘All this talk of having no money to spend is perhaps aimed at keeping the Kane fee down, as he only has a year left on his contract.’ Any deal that brings Kane to United would be spectacular. And while Ten Hag likes Martial, it’s hard to see him being the main man going forward as the club seek a first Premier League title since 2013.
