Man Utd ‘book private flight’ as officials race to complete Sofyan Amrabat deal

United are trying to complete a deadline-day move for Sofyan Amrabat (Image: GETTY) Manchester United have booked a private jet for Sofyan Amrabat to fly to the UK ahead of his proposed move to Old Trafford, according to reports. The Red Devils are keen on improving their ranks in the engine room and have taken a liking to Amrabat, who has been tracked by several top clubs since excelling at the World Cup with Morocco. United are thought to be stepping up their pursuit of Amrabat before the transfer window closes, with Erik ten Hag desperate to add the 27-year-old to his squad. A private jet has been booked from Florence to arrive at Manchester Airport on Friday afternoon as negotiations continue behind closed doors, according to the MEN . It is said that United have not denied the possibility they have arranged the jet, which is scheduled to arrive in the UK shortly before 1pm. As it is a private flight, there is a chance the departure time could be pushed back amid the prospect of talks becoming protracted. Amrabat is believed to be United’s top target in midfield following recent injuries to Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo. He previously worked under Ten Hag during his time at Utrecht, grabbing 10 assists in 50 games under the Dutchman’s guidance. Speaking in 2017, Ten Hag said of Amrabat: “Souf is imperturbable, unyielding. That is an additional quality. He will and must play, even if he has to go over five walls or through five walls, and even if he has to fight for it for weeks or months.” We’ll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures, and video on this breaking news story.
