A man was fired from his job after rescuing a moose calf from a black bear.

Mark Skage, a man from Fort Nelson, British Columbia, found himself accompanied by a moose calf during a long road trip when the calf hopped into his truck to escape a black bear.

Despite his good intentions, the man was fired by his employer, AFD Petroleum Inc., for breaking wildlife protocols.

The man noticed the calf alone on the side of the road and decided to scare her away from the highway. However, the calf tried to climb into his truck, and when Mark saw the black bear nearby, he couldn’t leave the calf behind.
