Man finds £425,000 in account and goes on spending spree after transfer error

Rapper Abdel Ghadia – who used to upload rap videos to YouTube under the name Slimy – pleaded guilty to two counts of dealing with the property proceeds of crime at Burwood Local Court

A rapper woke up to find nearly $1million AUD had been transferred into his account after a young couple accidentally sent him their house deposit, a court has heard.

Abdel Ghadia, 24, from Western Sydney, Australia, went on a wild spending spree after he found $750,000 (£425,000) in his account after a couple entered the wrong number on a bank transfer payment for a house.

After splashing out on bars of gold bullion, clothes and makeup, Ghadia appeared at Sydney’s Burwood Local Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts of dealing with the proceeds of crime.

When questioned whether he spent the couple’s money, the 24-year-old – who is known as ‘Slimmy’ on YouTube – replied: “no, cuz”.
