The 29-year-old striker, who has scored 259 goals across 403 games for Spurs, was widely linked with a move to Manchester City before Tottenham blocked the move and they instead opted to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
But with Tottenham’s failure to win any domestic trophies since Kane made his debut, the player – considered one of the best strikers in the world – has been regularly linked with an exit and Old Trafford is always mooted as a destination.
The timing could not be better as United are in desperate need of a new striker, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future up in the air, Anthony Martial’s injury problems and Marcus Rashford only scoring three goals across 11 top-flight games.
