Sainsbury’s has been found to be the cheapest supermarket – beating budget chain Aldi – according to a new investigation.
Manchester Evening News (MEN) has been comparing the weekly costs of eight weekly shops at each supermarket chain since March 2022.
These include cupboard and fridge staples such as bread, salted butter, milk, tea bags and minced beef.
Sainsbury’s was more recently the third cheapest chain in the investigation, behind Aldi and Lidl.
