Jess Harding and Sammy Root became the 2023 winners of Love Island, but as they look forward go a future outside of the villa as boyfriend and girlfriend, a relationship expert has predicted how Sammy will get ‘the ick’

On Monday night, Love Island viewers crowned Jess Harding and Sammy Root as their 2023 winners in a live final which was hit with a string of technical glitches. However, after winning the summer series, new doubts have been cast about the couple’s future on the outside.

On Monday night, four couples found themselves in the final as they competed for viewers’ votes to be crowned this year’s champions. The four finalists were Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, Jess Harding and Sammy Root, Molly Marsh and Zach Noble, and Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki, with the winner being announced live on ITV2 from the Mallorcan villa.

Revealing who had won, Maya Jama looked overjoyed as she celebrated the win with all the Islanders, including Sammy and Jess, who were overjoyed to find out they had won the public vote and thus bagged £50,000 to share.

Whitney and Lochan placed second, leaving fans stunned as they had been the favourites to win. Earlier in the series, Whitney and Lochan were voted favourite couple. Molly and Zach placed fourth last night, whilst Ella and Tyrique placed third.
